Owner Representative Independent Contractor Opportunities - Job Description:/h3:
Tyr Energy, Inc. (TEI) owns equity interests in North American independent power projects (IPPs) throughout the United States and provides asset management services to many of its projects through its Tyr Energy, LLC (TEL) subsidiary. TEI represents the North American cornerstone of the ITOCHU Corporation global IPP strategy. Worldwide, ITOCHU owns interests in or develops independent power facilities across the globe, with particular focus in Asia and Europe. TEI is actively pursuing additional acquisition and development opportunities with a focus in North America and potential expansion to Latin America.
Tyr Energy Construction Management, LLC (TECM), a wholly owned subsidiary of TEL, is now seeking several qualified Owner Representatives to provide onsite support during the construction of the Hickory Run Energy Center, a 1000MW two:on:one natural gas fired power generation project near New Castle, PA which is north of Pittsburgh, PA. Preference will be given to qualified local personnel. Four Owner Representative positions will be available, with start dates ranging from August to November 2017 and terms ranging from approximately 12 to 30 months.
The Owner Representatives will be expected to provide the following services:
: Review vendor drawings, design basis documents, equipment procurement specifications, construction specifications, proposed subcontractor lists, schedules, and miscellaneous technical data and documentation related to the power plant and related infrastructure.
: Monitor construction activities to verify that construction is progressing in accordance with the project schedule; investigate causes for delays; and validate that other responsible contractors initiate appropriate corrective actions if behind schedule.
: Monitor design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities to verify that contract requirements are being met and that specifications are adhered to.
: Witness and sign off on TECM specified inspection hold points (e.g., functional testing, tank inspections, pipe hydrostatic pressure tests).
: Inspect construction site and construction practices to verify prudent industry practices are in place for a safe working environment.
: Assess the general quality of the work activities
: Verify compliance with permit:related conditions and requirements
: Review contractor quality control and assurance procedures and records
: Confirm percentage:of:completion and milestone achievements on contractor invoices
: Attend requested progress meetings with key project participants.
: Keep the Project Director and Project Manager updated on project status.
: Maintain an ongoing action item list to track upcoming and delinquent obligations of contractors.
: Develop Punch List of incomplete items and verify Punch List items get completed.
The Owner Representatives are required to possess the following qualifications:
Substantial construction site experience.
Expertise in a particular craft or discipline (e.g. civil, mechanical, or electrical).
A safety mindset with demonstrable ability to identify safety issues and respond to same.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with owner representatives, site managers, contractors, suppliers, regulatory representatives, and others directly involved in the construction project.
Project management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English through both oral and written communications.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.
Strong teamwork skills.
Results orientation, working with integrity across cultures and disciplines.
Strong organization, independent judgment, and decision making skills.
